It’s worth complaining to Edesur

During a press conference, the EdeSur power utility’s general manager, Milton Morrison said that EdeSur has reimbursed 15,449 customers with RD$60 million. The customers had complained they had been irregularly billed during the pandemic.

Thousands in the Dominican Republic suffered from exorbitant bills despite their businesses being closed. The billing systems many times just averaged the past charges and did not reflect the real electricity consumption.

Morrison said when he took over in mid-August he found 150,000 complaints had been made. Of these, 67,400 were complaints for high billings.
