DNCD occupies 362 packages of suspected cocaine in the province of Peravia

The National Drug Control Agency announced seizing a shipment of 362 packages of supposed cocaine that arrived by sea to southcentral Peravia province. Two Colombians were arrested – 51-year old Enod Gomez Blanqui and 38-year old Marki Martinez Gomez.

Anti-narcotics agents, the Public Ministry and members of the Police carried out the operation at Sabana Ubero beach in the municipality of Paya-Baní, under the command of General Jorge G. Mancebo Bautista, South Central Regional director.

Colonel José E. Diroché Alcántara, deputy director of the South Central Regional Office, was also there, accompanied by rapid action units and members of the Criminal Investigation Department (Dicrim), leading the operation where the drugs were confiscated. This is the largest drug haul in the Paya region, since a famous case in August 2008 when six Colombians were killed in a drug dispute.
