The Professional Winter Baseball Championship starts 15 November. The six traditional teams will play 30 games.
The players will be concentrated and will live together to avoid catching the disease and then spreading it to other players, affecting the tournament.
In another development, the government announced its support to the tournament through the Banco de Reservas and Edesur. The Banco de Reservas signed for eight years of sponsorship and Edesur ensured it would guarantee adequate lighting for the tournament.
