Resorts fill up for Constitution Day long weekend

Tourism Minister David Collado noted that visits to the Dominican Republic were down by 76% in October, but domestic travelers responded and filled up resorts this past Constitution Day long weekend (6-9 November 2020). Collado said that occupancies of 75% were nationwide. The Ministry of Tourism, in coordination with the Ministry of Public health, assigned literally dozens of health inspectors to ensure that the health protocols were properly in place, and, more importantly, observed by everyone.

There is hopes for tourism occupancy to pick up in December and then on.
