There was no physical distancing, nor were the cock-betting fans wearing face masks. Around 50 men were arrested in two cockfighting businesses in Santiago province. The Police and the Public Ministry intervened, seeing the cockfighting as Covid-19-spreading events. The two cockfighting arenas were those located in Villa González and Cecara in Santiago.
In addition to the persons arrested, the authorities of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the National Police seized 13 motorcycles during the past weekend’s cockfighting shutdown operations.
