Central Bank reports on another good month in remittances

The Central Bank reports that family and friends sent to the Dominican Republic 36% more in remittances this October 2020 than in October 2019.

The Central Bank says this is the sixth consecutive monthly increase so far this year. The Central Bank reports receiving US$789.6 million more in October 2020 than in the same month in 2019.

From January to October 2020, the country has received US$6.64 billion in remittances. This is US$766.2 million (13.0%) more than that registered in the same period of the previous year, when it was US$5.87 billion.
