Ministry of Labor regulates teleworking

The Ministry of Labor issued Resolution 23/2020 that regulates teleworking in the Dominican Republic. The Ministry establishes that the teleworking agreement must be by mutual agreement between employer and employee.

Labor Minister Luis Miguel De Camps, in a press release, says the resolution seeks the best conditions in favor of workers and employers, given the current crisis facing the country caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We are aware that given the conditions and the need to revive work in our country, we must find solutions that benefit both workers and employers. Teleworking is a modality that not only adapts to the global crisis we are facing, but also allows us to promote decent employment to so many people who, for various reasons that we already know, are unable to work in person,” he said.
