The Tax Agency (DGII) encourages taxpayers to take advantage of the erasing of late charges on tax payments for those paying up from now to December. Luis Valdez, director of the DGII, says that those clearing their debts can also get a 30% deduction on the taxes due. Those that cannot make the full payment can benefit from the clearing of the late charges when agreeing to a payment plan. He said the government hopes to collect RD$10 billion by the end of the year. The tax discount program is available until after the end of the year.
