
President Luis Abinader was in La Romana on Friday, to inaugurate the Hilton La Romana Resort, an all-inclusive adults and family resort in southeastern Bayahibe. Also present was Tourism Minister David Collado; Bruce Wardinski, president of Playa Hotels and Resorts; Fernando Mulet, executive vice president for development and acquisitions of Playa Hotels and Resorts; and Gregori Maliassas, executive vice president and operations director.
In his keynote speech, President Abinader thanked the Playa hotel chain for the confidence they have placed in the country. “There are reasons today to trust more, because today you have an ally in the government. An ally that wants more development, more jobs and a much more transparent business climate.”
Abinader reiterated again: “This is the best time to invest in the Dominican Republic. Be certain that we will not only get out of this crisis, but we will come out stronger than ever.”
President Luis Abinader highlighted the achievements of the government in the tourism sector. He stressed that despite all the problems brought by the pandemic, the industry continues to advance.
Hilton now has the 356-room Hilton La Romana All-Inclusive Adult Only Resort and the 418-room Hilton La Romana All Inclusive Family Resort. The family resort features a new splash-down water park with white-knuckle tube slides, a meandering lazy river and a kid’s splash zone with mini waterslides.
Playa Hotels & Resorts operates seven resorts in the Dominican Republic with more than 3,000 hotel rooms.
