
The National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) with the support of the Armed Forces, intelligence agencies, and members of the military-security at the Multimodal Port of Caucedo and under the coordination of the Justice Department, seized 1,145 packages presumably of cocaine, in an inspection operation at the shipping port terminal.
DNCD agents, military personnel, prosecutors and canine units, profiled dozens of containers that arrived in the country from Central America. After an exhaustive review, 38 packages containing the suspected substance were found inside.
According to the first information, the contents arrived camouflaged as a cargo of coffee beans, in transit to Europe. The security forces also found four 9mm pistols, ammunition and two bulletproof vests in the same shipment.
