Seven persons were hospitalized on Wednesday, 9 December 2020 after a woman driver lost control of her vehicle. The vehicle rammed into the Centro de Salud Fundación Siglo XII, a hospital in Los Guaricanos in Santo Domingo North municipality
The severely injured were taken to the Ney Arias Trauma Hospital, and two children to the Dr. Hugo Mendoza Children’s Hospital. Two of the seven, a 52-year old woman and a 69-year man were seriously injured but stable. The accident was said to have occurred when the driver stepped on the accelerator instead of the break. It is reported that the woman was bringing her aging mother to the hospital and was very nervous.
