
Chilly weather and rain is forecast for the north coast, central mountain areas and the northern border provinces with Haiti. The chilly weather will continue through the weekend.
Temperatures in the early morning are forecast to drop to as low as 19C in Greater Santo Domingo and La Romana, 17C in Santiago, 18C in Puerto Plata, 5C in Constanza, 21C in Samana and La Altagracia (Punta Cana).
The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) says that a frontal system is almost stationary and will bring cloudy skies. Light to moderate rains are forecast, and some wind gusts mainly in the north, northeast, northwest, Central Mountain Range, and border province areas.
Onamet has issued a green alert to possible urban flooding, landslides, river and stream flooding in: Puerto Plata, Espaillat, Santiago, Santiago Rodriguez, Montecristi, Dajabón, La Vega, María Trinidad Sánchez, Monseñor Nouel, Valverde.
