President Luis Abinader named former Superior Education Minister Ligia Amada Melo to the National Council for Superior Education, Science and Technology (CNES). Also named in Decree 679-20 are Rafael Emilio Yunén, Angel Moreta and Odalís Pérez Nina. The council provides guidelines for universities and other advanced education programs in the Dominican Republic. The new board replaces Jesus de la Rosa, Radhames Mejia and Eddy Martinez.
Decree 679-20 names Melo as the representative of the former ministers of Superior Education in the CNES. The decree is dated 27 November 2020.
