
Authorities at the Cibao International Airport in Santiago revealed that Dominican pilot Carlos Oquet Acevedo was arrested for transporting weapons for which he did not have the due authorization. The pilot flew into the Cibao international airport from La Isabela International Airport in northern Santo Domingo.
The airport reports that Carlos Oquet Acevedo was detained by the Military Security Supervisor of Customs and members of the Specialized Airport Security Corps at the Santiago terminal.
The authorities reported that they occupied six pistols, one revolver, 18 boxes of pellets, 50 pistol magazines and six revolver cases. Also, 10 M16 rifle loaders, three PS90 semi-automatic gun butt plate kits. Also, three red set of M16 rifle, one Glock P80 pistol grip, 15 rifle barrels and four loose spins. Also on board the domestic flight was a PS90 semi-automatic gun grip, eleven metal rods with pin, one automatic gun recoil tube, 12 ammunition release windows with pin, three recoil supports, two rifle cut barrels, one red set sprinkler, 12 assorted gun pieces, one PS90 rifle trigger set.
According to the report, the pilot flew into the airport on an aircraft with the United States N203BP registration number.
