The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) forecasts sunny skies for Christmas for Santo Domingo and Punta Cana. Yet it warns there will be isolated showers on 24 and 25 December. A trough is moving across the island and will bring downpours to the Caribbean coastal areas, the north, northeast, southeast, Central Mountain Range and border area on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Chilly temperatures are forecast for early mornings. 6ºC to 12 ºC are forecast for mountain areas and 18ºC to 23ºC, for coastal areas.
