
The Dominican Football Federation (Fedofútbol) announced that the men’s national team will face the Serbia national team on 25 January 2021. The game will be played starting at 5pm at the Felix Sánchez Olympic Stadium in Santo Domingo. The match is part of national team preparations for the Concacaf Qatar 2022 World Cup Qualifying Round to take place 24 March to 8 June 2021.
Rubén García Ciprián, president of Fedofútbol announced the match. National coach Jacques Passy explained that Team Serbia is positioned among the top 30 teams in the world. He also announced that the Dominican team is preparing for the Pre-Olympic in the U-23 category.
Another match, this time against Team Puerto Rico will take place on Tuesday, 19 January 2021 at the El Condor Stadium in La Vega.
García Ciprián explained that the Dominican Republic will play in the World Cup Qualifiers Qatar 2022 in Group D from 24 March to 8 June 2021. The DR joins 34 other teams that are playing in the North, Central American and Caribbean division of the Qualifier. Team Dominica will face Team DR on 24 March. Three days later the Dominican team will travel to Anguilla for another match. It will then play Barbados in Santo Domingo on 4 June and then travel to Panama City on 8 June.
