Jorge Luis Polanco / El Dia

President Luis Abinader named the lawyers that will work closely with the Attorney General Office to end impunity and strengthen public finances. The Abinader administration is cracking down on corruption in the past administrations and the present and seeks to divest assets secured by corrupt means.

The Presidency says Decree 22-21 that names the legal team is an important step in the new administration’s efforts to recover assets and resources secured through illicit acts, omissions, negligence, recklessness, or law violations.

The Presidency declares of national interest the recovery of the public patrimony and says it will invest the recovered assets in projects that improve the quality of life of the Dominican people.

The team of lawyers is to be headed by Jorge Luis Polanco Rodríguez, José Luís Taveras, Claudia Álvarez Troncoso, Manuel Conde Cabrera, Rafael Rivas Solano and Fernando P. Henríquez.
