On 14 January 2021, Judge Jose Alejandro Vargas rejected the definitive filing of the investigation of the participation of eight accused in the Odebrecht US$92 million bribes scandal. Judge José Alejandro Vargas said the cases against Temístocles Montás, Alfredo Pacheco, César Sánchez, Bernardo Castellanos, Julio César Valentín, Máximo D Oleo, Ruddy González and Radhamés Segura, implicated in the Odebrecht case, cannot be filed because of procedural errors. He said the definitive filing was never officially notified to all the parties involved in the case.
