
President Luis Abinader named Angie Shakira Martínez Tejera the new Dominican ambassador to Jamaica. Martínez is a lawyer and has been working at the Ministry of Foreign Relations for the past 17 years. At the time of her appointment she was ambassador for academic affairs with Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Relations. She had been in the position since February 2009. She is a graduate in law from the state university, UASD and has graduate studies in international law, environment and sustainable development from Science Po and Sorbonne University in Paris, France, and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and Instituto Universitario Ortega y Gasset in Spain.
