Jaime Colson exhibition in the Colonial City

A tribute by his students to master painter Jaime Colson can be seen at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Visuales, at Calle El Conde No.59, corner Isabel la Católica, in the Colonial City. The exhibition honors the 120th birthday of the celebrated Dominican artist.

The National School of Visual Arts summoned the artists who had studied plastic arts with the great master from Puerto Plata. The exhibition is named “The Legacy of a Master” and features 23 works of Colson’s disciples, as José Rafael Sosa writes in Acento.

The art school’s director, Iris Perez, is the curator of the exhibition. A separate virtual program has been organized with lectures and colloquiums.

The works on exhibit are by artists: Domingo Liz, José Ramón Rotellini, Fernando Peña Defilló, Iván Tovar, Elsa Núñez, Cándido Bidó, Amable Sterling, Rosa Tavárez, José Perdomo, Norberto Santana, Vicente Pimentel, Juan Medina, Dionisio Blanco, Said Musa, Roberto Flores and José Rincón Mora, José Ramírez Conde, Fernando Ureña Rib, Virgilio Méndez, Rosa Elina Arias, Martin Santos, Freddy Javier and Clinton López.

An unpublished photo of the master taken by Thimo Pimentel, is also exhibited.
