
The Ministry of Public Administration announced that the government will continue to encourage teleworking and shortened working hours for government workers through 8 February 2021.
Public Administration Minister Darío Castillo Lugo said that the working hours for the public sector will continue to be until 3pm and only 40% of the employees will be required to in-person work, as part of the measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in government offices.
Dario Castillo Lugo, explained that this measure will continue to be applied from this Wednesday, 27 January until 8 February 2021, as an extension of Resolution 0003-21 that reduced in-person working in government offices to comply with Decree 37-21, dated 22 January 2021.
For teleworking, the resolution gives priority to those over 65 years of age, pregnant women, those who suffer from high-risk health conditions, regardless of age.
