January 2021 became the fourth month with the most reported Covid-19 deaths in the Dominican Republic. There were 250 reported deaths in the 31 days of January. The deaths are attributed to the thousands of family and friends that visited in December and the increased mobility during the holidays.
The most reported Covid-deaths were reported in August 2020 with 553 deaths, and June 2020, both attributed to the high mobility around the 5 July 2020 presidential and legislative elections. The first case of Covid-19 was reported on 1 March 2020.
