Presidential Decree 71-21 puts an end to the Digital Republic program initiated by the past Medina administration and creates the Digital Transformation Cabinet. This new entity will control technical aspects of Dominican development under the aegis of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the National Development Strategy (END).
The new cabinet will cover the digital agenda of the government and its applications in public policies. The cabinet is under the Ministry of the Presidency. The members are the ministries of Economy, Education Higher Educatio, Industry and Commerce, Public Administration, the Presidential Judicial Council, the Dominican Telecommunications Institute (Indotel) and the Presidential IT Office (Optic).
