President Luis Abinader issued Decree 86-21 that creates the National Security and Defense Council. The council is an advisory body to the Presidency responsible for issuing national security and defense policies, strategies and guideline recommendations.
It is composed of the President of the Republic, the ministers of Defense. Presidency, Interior and Police, and the directors of the National Department of Investigations (DNI), of the National Police and of the National Drug Control Agency (DNCD).
