The government issued Decree 133-21 that relaxes the Covid-19 lockdown measures, reducing curfew hours. Businesses are ordered to close at 9pm and allowed to reopen at 5am Monday to Friday. On Saturdays and Sundays, the schedule is closing at 7pm and reopening at 5am. This gives businesses two more hours to remain open. The previous three hours of free mobility continue in effect. This means that lockdown starts at midnight on Mondays to Friday and at 10pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
The government also ordered the Santo Domingo Metro, Santo Domingo Skylift and OMSA buses to continue to offer services to the general public during the three hours of mobility.
Otherwise, the same exceptions that allow 24/7 free circulation continue and the same limitations to business operations are to continue.
Active cases of Covid-19 in the country have been declining, as well as the positivity rate that is now around 12% nationwide.
The new curfew is effective, Wednesday, 3 March 2021 through 17 March 2021.
