The Dominican Embassy in Paris and the City of Paris unveiled a plaque commemorating the Mirabal Sisters. The activity was on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
Acento reports that since early in the morning, political personalities and the diplomatic corps accredited in France gathered at the Dominican Republic Plaza in Paris, where the ceremony took place.
The solemn ceremony began with a speech by Dominican Ambassador Rosa Hernández. During her speech, the diplomat spoke of the cruel assassination of the Mirabal sisters during the Trujillo regime some 60 years ago.
