She was fired from her job at the Ministry of Public Relations. In her desperation, she took off her clothes and stood naked in front of the Presidential Palace to call attention to her request that the government pay the RD$210,000 she is demanding as severance payment for the past four months. She says she lost her husband in a traffic accident two years ago. She says she owes five months of rent and is about to be evicted from where she lives with her three children. She explained she had worked at the gym of the Ministry of Public Works for 16 years.
She protested at around 8am on Monday, 8 March 2021 on occasion of International Women’s Day. She was arrested by the National Police.
As reported in Diario Libre, no authority paid attention to her plight, but she caught the attention of people she identified as intelligence service who took her telephone, name and took photos.
The streaking act was covered in social media and by TV and radio commentators.
