Minister of Public Health Daniel Rivera and General Juan Manuel Mendez, director of the Committee for Emergency Operations (COE) received 200,000 syringes for Covid-19 vaccinations donated by the United States government. The US Southern Command made the donation of the US-manufactured Terumo 3ml syringes with needles through US Embassy coordination.
Most vaccinated in the Dominican Republic have received the Chinese-made Sinovac/Coronavac vaccines.
