Tucanos force down another drug plane. Two dead

Late last week, the Dominican Air Force sent its Super Tucano to track and force down a plane that had entered Dominican airspace illegally. This has happened over half a dozen times in the last four months, as reported in El Nacional. All of the flights originate in Venezuela. This time, the results were tragic. The plane crashed and burned in a harvested sugarcane field near Batey Bonito in La Altagracia province. Forensic authorities confirmed two unidentified persons died in the crash, and that the plane was loaded with illegal drugs.

In another recent forced landing, also in a cane field, the occupants were able to escape, and the authorities know who they are and have warrants out on five persons involved in that escapade.
