Expect fly-ins to resume to the Dominican Republic

Jim Parker of Caribbean Flying Adventures was in the Dominican Republic for meetings with aviation authorities and airports. He met with Román E. Caamaño at the Dominican Aviation Institute (IDAC) and discussed strategies for relaunching private aviation tourism to the country.

Parker is regarded as one of the leading industry experts on flying privately to the Caribbean region. For years, he has organized many fly-ins to the Dominican Republic and other Caribbean destinations.

Also meeting with Parker was Civil Aviation Board director, José Marte Piantini; the director of the Corps for Airport Security (Cesac), General Carlos R. Febrillet; and Dominican Airports’ executive director Department, Víctor Pichardo.

Parker is the founder and president of the mostly widely used private pilot’s guide to the Caribbean, the Bahamas and select destinations in Central America. He is best known as an organizer of affordable escorted flying tours to the islands. Participants fly in on their own planes, but he organizes the rest.
