Six persons were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Anacaona Avenue during the morning of Tuesday, 17 March. Four persons died, one was hospitalized at the Dario Contreras Trauma Hospital and another unidentified woman was taken to a private clinic. The identified deceased are Genaro Galvan Alvarez, Virginia Ayala Monegro and Celeste Aurora Garo.
Involved in the crash was a motorcycle, two Nissans and a Toyota Corolla. A Toyota 4Runner, parked on the avenue, was also damaged. No one was in the parked vehicle at the time of the crash.
El Dia speculates that excessive speeding could have had to do with the tragic accident.
