Easter Week safety deployment announced

The Civil Defense announced Wednesday, 17 March 2021, that it has 10,518 volunteers that will be active at the 839 aid stations on highways, beaches and in resort areas nationwide for the Easter holiday. 313 doctors and 16 equipped ambulances will be offering service from 21 March through 4 April 2021, for the duration of the Easter holidays. Volunteers in full will be out working from Good Friday through Resurrrection Sunday.

Volunteers will be on hand to assist with lost children and mobile rescue units are fitted with vehicle extrication tools at strategic points on highways. The Civil Defense announced aid posts will be located at Km 89 of the Duarte highway, near Plaza Jacaranda. Also in Boca Chica Beach at pier No. 1 and near the Hamaca Hotel.

Director of the Civil Defense, General Rafael Carrasco Paulino is leading the operation.

The authorities expect the ban on the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages in public spaces on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 2, 3 and 4 April 2021 will contribute to safe holidays. Curfew on these days is from 7pm to 5am with three hours of free circulation.
