Agents assigned to the Specialized Corps for Metro Safety (Cesmet) detained a young man for acting strangely. He had with him a seemingly heavy backpack when riding on the Metro.
Upon being stopped for questioning, the agents discovered he was carrying over half a million in blue-colored RD$2,000 bills in the backpack. All were counterfeit bills.
The young man was taken into custody and placed at the disposition of the proper authorities. The identity of the man was not revealed to the media.
