Massive safety operation underway for Holy Week

Former general Juan Manuel Mendez, the director of the Center for Emergency Operations (COE) announced that over 46,000 people are involved in Operation Commitment to Live, Holy Week 2021. As anyone who has taken to the roads during Easter holidays, the COE and Civil Defense work hard to help people stay safe.

Starting on Thursday, 1 April 2021, there will be no less than 3,100 aid stations on the beaches, rivers and highways, 168 ambulances, three helicopters, 57 tow trucks stations, 21 rescue vessels, 37 mobile car repair shops, plus over 500 health inspectors to watch over things.

The Easter Week operation starts on Thursday, and all heavy trucks are supposed to be off the roads (only fuel and food will be allowed). Easter Week is the peak vacation time for domestic travelers.
