
A high concentration of Saharan dust in the atmosphere will show up in hazy skies all through Thursday, 22 April 2021. Sensitive persons should take the necessary precautions.
Meteorologist Jean Suriel was the first to give the warning, reporting on the dust particles starting on Saturday.
In its 18 April weather update, the National Meteorological Office (Onamet) confirms Saharan dust is covering the country.
Saharan dust is a mixture of sand and dust from the Sahara, the vast desert area covering most of North Africa.
