The Superior Council of the Public Ministry of the Attorney General Office announced the suspending of the head prosecutor of Santiago, Jose Francisco Nuñez Ledesma and prosecutor Adris Socorro del Carmen Fernández Ortega for alleged serious mistakes at work. Núñez was under investigation by the inspector general of the Public Ministry.
At the same time, the general prosecutor of the Court of Appeals of Santiago, Juan Carlos Bircann Sánchez swore in Quirsa Milagros Abreu Peña as the temporary prosecutor for the province.
