The Procurement Agency (DGCP) had annulled the contracting of the San Pedro de Macorís city government with a company owned by MLB baseball player Robinson Canó (RJC Clear) for irregularities in the contracting procedures. Nevertheless, the city government of San Pedro de Macoris says they will continue with the service. The decision of the Procurement Agency is in Resolution RIC-85-2021 that establishes multiple violations of Procurement Law 340-06.
