
Russia’s President Vladimir Putin received credentials from 23 foreign ambassadors, including Hans Dannenberg of the Dominican Republic on 18 May 2021. The ceremony, which symbolizes the formal start of the ambassadors’ missions in the Russian Federation, took place on Tuesday morning in the Alexander Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace.
This is the first ceremony for the presentation of credentials in 2021 to be held in Russia. There is no official photo given the Covid-19 protocol.
Ambassador Dannenberg has been officially on the job since 24 December 2020 when he presented his credential letter to Deputy Minister of Foreign Relations Sergei Ryabkov.
In his presentation at the ceremony, Putin spoke of his assurance that the pandemic situation will improve so that Russian tourists can visit. He said that his country wanted to continue developing cooperation with the government, including the tourism sector.
Ambassador Hans Dannenberg explains flights between the DR and Russia are closed. He says every week, he meets with the health committee to follow up. “The flights are closed, we are trying for them to reopen,” he explains.
