The Chamber of Deputies is expected to close for two weeks, given the spread of Covid-19 among members in Congress. The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Alfredo Pacheco says that at least a dozen of deputies have caught the disease. He says another 50 employees have tested positive for Covid-19. Pacheco, who was abroad last week participating in the FITUR travel show in Spain, said he would make the formal announcement of the shutdown on Wednesday, 26 May 2021.
