Marisol Franco ordered to wear an ankle electronic monitor

The Second Court of Instruction of the National District imposed an electronic ankle shackle as an additional coercive measure on Marisol Franco, spouse of arrested drug trafficker César Emilio Peralta (César el Abusador). The court ordered that Franco continue under house arrest and that she cannot leave the country. She is accused of money laundering.

Judge Patricia Padilla partially accepted the request for preventive detention against Franco made by the Prosecutor’s Office of the National District. The prosecutors argued that Franco had violated the house arrest protocols and left her residence without judicial authorization.

At the end of the coercive measures review hearing, the head prosecutor of the National District, Rosalba Ramos, announced that they will study the motivations of the judge’s ruling to decide whether to appeal the decision.

Franco had argued she left her domicile for a medical emergency of her children. She reportedly presented proof of this to the court.
