The organizers of the Soberano Awards, the Oscar ceremony for the entertainment industry in the Dominican Republic, announced Juan Luis Guerra will be performing for the extravaganza on 16 June 2021. The event is in its 36th year and will be staged to a limited audience at the National Theater and telecast to national and international audiences.
The Soberano Awards are organized by the Association of Entertainment Chroniclers (Acroarte) and sponsored by the Presidente beer brewery, the Cervecería Nacional Dominicana.
The Soberano Awards 2021 coincides with the 30th anniversary of Guerra’s hit single, “Bachata Rosa.” Guerra has received more than 15 Soberano Awards over his lifelong career.
