
The Dominican Republic defeated the Netherlands in the Nations League volleyball tournament. The match ended 3-1 in favor of the “Queens of the Caribbean.” The Dominican volleyball team scored 23-25, 25-,28-30 and 22-25, only losing game three to the strong Netherlands team.
The Dominican Republic’s women’s volleyball team is seventh in the standings of the Nations League tournament. The event is serving as a warm-up for the July 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Team Dominican Republic is one of the 12 women’s volleyball teams that will be competing in the Olympics.
So far, the DR has won seven games and lost five in the 16-team Nations League tournament. The top seven teams are: USA, Brazil, Japan, Turkey, Netherlands, Russia and the Dominican Republic.
