Pablo Ulloa starts his job as ombudsman

The National Senate swore in Pablo Ulloa as the nation’s ombudsman on 14 June 2021. Alternates Roberto Carlos Quiroz Canela and Miguel Antonio Puello Maldonado and their adjuncts Ana Leticia Martich Mateo and Darío Antonio Nin were also sworn in for the 2021-2027 period.

Pablo Ulloa, the new ombudsman, said at the ceremony: “We are here to contribute to the institutional and democratic strengthening of the Dominican Republic, by bolstering respect for human dignity and the consolidation of the social democratic state of rights.”

Ulloa committed to abide by the Constitution and Dominican laws. He is an industrial psychologist by training with doctorates in government and public policies.
