The Dominican Republic’s national baseball team is in Mexico for the Tokyo Olympics qualifier set for Puebla, Mexico 22-26 June 2021. There the DR will match Venezuela and the Netherlands for the last slot available to the summer Olympics.
As a preparatory match for the qualifier, the Dominican national team played Team Mexico on Saturday, 19 June 2021, winning 15 runs to 4 runs in a Mexico City ballpark, Estadio Alfredo Harp Helú. This included nine runs in the 5th inning of the game. Team Mexico is one of the five teams already qualified to the Tokyo Olympics.
