Procurement Agency bids to buy two luxury SUVS

N Digital reports that the Public Procurement Agency (DGCP) has kept the bidding procedure for the purchase of two vehicles for staff for RD$6.4 million.

Carlos Pimentel, director of the agency said the budgetary allotment and authorization had been received from Administrative Minister of the Presidency Jose Ignacio Paliza for the purchase of two SUV vehicles on 14 June 2021, before the issuing of Presidential Decree 396-21 that bans the purchase of luxury motor vehicles for public officials in 2021.

The DGCP explained: “This is an all-terrain vehicle for security reasons that guarantees movement throughout the national territory for the exercise of our roles and competencies.”

According to the technical specifications, the SUVS would be year 2020 with three rows of seats and capacity for seven passengers, with leather upholstery and gasoline engine of 2.0 to 3.5.
