Authorities shut down motel for hosting party after curfew

The authorities announced the temporary shutdown of the Ethics motel in Canabacoa, on the highway to Santiago. The motel was closed after the management allowed a mega party into curfew hours. The neighbors complained and the law enforcements visited the location on Monday, 21 June 2021 at 2am 20 June 2021 and arrested 369 persons attending the “teteo,” or informal party. Those attending were arrested and had to pay a fine. Among those participating in the party were several minors.

The spokesperson for the Central Cibao Police command, Colonel Juan Guzmán Badía did not quantify the fines. The parents of the minors paid the fines for their children.

As reported, the party had been promoted on social media, but it was the neighbors that complained because of the high music that was not letting them sleep that got the Police and prosecutors to take action and put an end to the partying.

The spokesperson for the Police did not reveal the fine amount nor the duration of the suspension.

As reported, this was not the first party of the sorts to take place at Ethics. Guzman Badia said that six vehicles were seized, 33 motorcycles, 70 sound equipment devices, dozens of hookahs, and alcoholic beverages of different brands.
