Vaccination push goes to Puerto Plata this weekend

Public Health authorized announced a massive vaccination operation in the province of Puerto Plata from Friday, 24 June to Sunday, 26 June 2021.

Six extra vaccination stations are set up in the Plaza Independencia, Multicentro Jumbo, Polideportivo Gregorio Luperón and in the sports complexes of the sectors Padre Las Casas, Villa Progreso and Liga del Atlántico.

The plan is to reach out to those who have not yet been vaccinated. The public health authorities are sustaining an effort to vaccinate over 100,000 people per day. The mass vaccination campaigns that bring vaccination centers to the people have made it easier for people to get their vaccines, and people are responding. The rolling 7-day vaccination for the past seven days (15-21 June) was 102,900 doses.

Former Puerto Plata senator, today Administrative Minister of the Presidency, Jose Ignacio Paliza will be in Puerto Plata to kick off the vaccination effort. He will lead a brief opening ceremony at 9am on Friday, 24 June morning at the central park.

The Administrative and Financial Deputy Minister of the Presidency Igor Rodríguez Durán and the provincial director of Health in Puerto Plata, Jhonny Tavarez Capellán, say that in addition to the Sinovac/Coronavac vaccine, the Pfizer vaccine will be available during the campaign.
