The Chamber of Deputies approved the extension of the National State of Emergency. The extension first passed in the Senate. The current National State of Emergency ends 14 July 2021. The extension will bring it to 26 August 2021.
As of Sunday, 27 June 2021, the Presidency had not published online the executive act that makes official the extension of the state of exception.
The first case of Covid-19 diagnosed in the Dominican Republic was on 1 March 2021. Lockdown was first declared on 18 March 2021.
