DR to require proof of vaccination or negative PCR for some countries

The Civil Aviation Board (JAC) will require proof of full vaccination or a negative PRC test for entry into the Dominican Republic, starting 28 June 2021 for citizens or arrivals from 18 nations. The measure is in JAC Resolution No. 133-2021.

The resolution requires the traveler present results of a negative PCR test taken no more than 72 hours prior to arrival or a vaccination card with proof that the second dose had been administered no less than three weeks prior to the travel date.

The measure also applies to all passengers from these countries arriving in Dominican territory from a third country, and those who have been in these countries for 14 days or less.

The measures also establishes that crew members coming on flights from any of the 18 countries must present their vaccination card or PCR test or else quarantine within the hotel.

The 18 nations whose citizens or persons arriving in flights originated in these countries now need to present the tests are: Australia, United Kingdom (Britain, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland), Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, Ireland, the Democratic Republic of Congo, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Senegal, Syria, Sweden, Monaco, Thailand, Tunisia, Brazil, South Africa and India.

The new requirement is expected to affect only about 1.3% of visitors.
