A Viva Wyndham for Miches

President Luis Abinader was in Miches in eastern El Seibo province on Thursday, 1 July 2021 for the ground breaking ceremony of the Viva Wyndham Resorts Miches on Playa Esmeralda. Club Med already operates a resort at the new beach area that is located north of Punta Cana. RD$3.5 billion will be invested to build the resort that is set to open in 2023.

President Abinader highlighted the investment of the Dominican hotel group in the creating of jobs for the people of El Seibo.

Ettore Colussi, chief investor, said a first family hotel of 486 rooms would be built, to be followed by a 264-room adults-only resort. The design is by architect Antonio Imbert and the construction by Kuky Silverio.

Viva Wyndham’s first beach properties are located in Dominicus Beach in La Altagracia province in the southeast. The company has resorts in Cabarete and Playa Dlorada in Puerto Plata in the north, Samana in the northeast and Miches. It also expects to be of the first to build in Pedernales, in the southwest. The company founded by Italian investor Ettore Colussi and Dominican businessman Rafael Blanco Canto became the first Dominican hotel chain to operate properties abroad with locations in Mexico and Bahamas.
